WHAT RUNNERS GET FOR THE 80's RUN
COOL Iron-On tshirts
All runners will receive a traditional Iron-On Orange T-shirt with a simple logo and made from a combed, soft cotton. We all remember spending hours making our own t-shirts with our irons and wax paper.
All 5k and 10k runners receive a FREE Shirt.
Different 80's Quotes will be on the back, what will you get?
HUGE FUN EXPO
Come for the RUN...stay for the FUN...after the event, come visit all ouf our partners, sponsors AND local businesses. From drinks, massage, even Sisters Sweets Shop will be selling tons of 1980s candies and sweets!
Hang out in the grass as our DJ plays 80s music and we do some contests up on the stage.
KIDS AREA - JUMP CASTLE
Come with the whole family for the afternoon...we will have a jumpy castle, fun music and then a KIDS RUN around 6:15PM for a 1/2 mile fun run for the kids 4-11 years old. Then ALL kids get into the concert for FREE. Kids need to understand the 80s were the best years of music!
Get them trained now & come in 80s costumes.
80s ARCADE BUS & Games
How many hours and quarters did you spend in the 80s to play the new technology of Arcade Games? Or take a date? Well...the ARCADE BUS will be on-site for the best Arcade and Street Games from the 1980s. From PAC MAN to STARWARS to TOP GOLF...he has it all. BRING YOUR QUARTERS!!!
FINISHER MEDALLION
All runners receive a FINISHER MEDALLION after completing the 5k, 10k or the Kids Mile. Bright Colors and Cool Design and shape will make these medals collectible Year after Year. Don't forget to wear it to school or work the next day!! Remember those days... (Medal Design Coming)
PLASTIC DRINKING CUP
It wouldn't be an party in the 80s without a KEG, some wine coolers and a plastic cup. Ours will have a special Event Logo and artwork for use all year and in our Drink and Bar Area. So grab the permanant marker- and put your name on YOUR CUP. *design coming soon
COOL MERCHANDISE
Our events always carry different merchandise for remembering the occasion. We create cool, colorful items to be worn all year long. This year we are adding Socks, and Hoodies...all available at Race Registration or ON-Site at the Sports Expo. Get it early.
BIG HAIR CONTEST
NO, this is not an illusion...if you are laughing, then you obviously didn't go to High School in the 1980s! This was normal and Gel and Hair Spray use was an ART! And it wasn't just the girls...there was a reason they called some music from the BIG HAIR BANDS! Audience participation to choose the winner! Sponsored by AquaNet.
DANCE Contest
After the run and the Doors Open for the Concert and DJ...grab a beer or wine cooler and watch a break dance competition and dance contest, all voted on by our audience. The Break Dancing will be by local Pros and Students... The Dance Contest will be with 10 people pulled from the Audience and must change their cadence based off 6-8 Song-Shorts played by our own DJ A CASH...
SPECIAL GUEST DJ
We have spent HOURS and HOURS collecting the best RAP, HIP-HOP, PUNK, Popular and Not-so-popular ONE HIT WONDERS for the best sounds from 3pm-7pm... You will forget there were so many GREAT songs from Madonna, Flock of Seagulls, Depesche Mode, Guns n' Roses, The Cars, Vanilla Ice and many many more. !!! The RUNNERS MAKE THE REQUESTS online during Registration.
